Pancake Recipe ~ Make your own pancake mix this Shrove Tuesday!

Pancake day is coming soon. Making your own pancake mix is really easy with our Simple Pancake Recipe.
Make this Shrove Tuesday one to remember with just 5 ingredients, a frying pan (or two) and our Super Easy Step-By-Step Pancake Recipe. Don't forget your favourite fillings too!
Simple Pancake Recipe
Servings - Approx 10 ~ 12 Pancakes
Prep Time - 5 Minutes (Plus min 30min rest time for batter)
Ingredients:
- 100g Plain Flour
- 2 Large Free Range Eggs
- 300ml Milk
- 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Extra Oil/Butter For Oiling Pan
- Pinch Of Salt
Method:
The Pancake Batter.
- Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Create a well in the centre.
- Add the eggs into the well plus a little of the milk and oil and gently start to whisk from the middle, drawing in flour from the side.
- Continue to whisk as you pour in the rest of the milk.
- Whisk until you have a smooth, lump free batter.
- Leave the batter to rest for 30 minutes (If you have time!)
Cooking Pancakes.
- Add a little oil to a medium sized pan and swirl around so all the pan is oiled. Heat until hot.
- Add a ladel or two of batter mix to the pan, swirling it around the pan as you add it.
- Cook for 1-1½ minutes before flipping over to cook the other side for 1 minute.
- Transfer the cooked pancake to a low/warm (not hot) oven and continue with the rest of the pancake batter.
Author Tips:
To speed up the pancake making process use more than one pan!
Heating up a ceramic plate like the Caple Pizza Stone is a great way to keep pancakes warm in the oven and for serving on the table. Just remember to place the ceramic stone on a wooden board or trivet if placing on a table/worktop.
